This morning I got a phone call from an elderly lady on the Bluff, who had a bat on the eves right outside her bedroom window. I went out to have a look and give some advice, after which she was quite happy to leave the bat be. She wanted to know how to keep it away humanely as she was under the impression that bats carry disease. Bats do not carry any disease that's easily transmitted to human by just being in close proximity to them. The only way you may pick up a disease from them is if you are them or their farces raw.
